Note: The following Top 8 teams list is not in any particular order of marks.

As part of SLIIT Codefest, ICT Quiz Competition is an effort to empower the secondary school student’s ICT knowledge to a next level. The competition consists of three rounds and the top 8 teams will be selected for the final round on stage. The winners will receive valuable cash prices and trophy plagues based on decisions made by a panel of judges.

Team Size: Three members (3)

The competition is open for secondary school students from Grade 10 – Grade 13.
Each school must finalize ONE team of THREE members at the initial level of the competition.

Technologies/ Syllabus:
Information and Communication Technology Advanced Level syllabus.
Information and Communication Technology general knowledge.

Rules and Regulations:

  • ONE Team is allowed to participate from one school.
  • A Team can have maximum THREE members.
  • Teams can discuss with themselves when answering questions.
  • A winner and two runners-up team will be chosen by a panel of judges.
  • The judges’ decision is final.
  • The teacher-in-charge will be informed if the team is selected for round 2 and round 3.

Registration Period: Registrations are closed for 2020!

Number of Rounds : The competition will be held in three rounds: Initial (round 1), Second (round 2) and Final (round 3).
Round 1: All registered Teams will be eligible
Round 2: Team must score more than 75% to move to round 2
Round 3: Top 8 teams will be selected from round 2

Cash Prizes :
  • Winner - 50,000.00 LKR
  • 1st Runner - 40,000.00 LKR
  • 2nd Runner - 30,000.00 LKR

Initial Round Date Inital round - Date extended to 23rd December at 10.00 am
(Trial Quiz - 22nd of December at 3.00 pm)
Problem definition  Understanding in ICT and ICT general knowledge
Selection process  All schools with one team registered is selected
Evaluation criteria  Online Quiz (30 minutes, 20 MCQ questions)
Special requirements (Optional)
  • The quiz is conducted online
  • The quiz is conducted using a unique browser named “Lockdown Browser”
  • Students are required to install this browser on their PC to participate in the quiz
  • Each team member will get an email with the exam server link and instructions two days before the Quiz
  • Each team member has the opportunity to sit for the quiz separately
  • The team will score an average mark based on the individual performances

Evaluation criteria  Online Quiz (30 minutes 45 minutes, 30 questions)
Special requirements (Optional)  Quiz is conducted on Campus
Final Round Date 23rd of February 2021

Selection process 8 Teams who score highest will be selected for the final round
Evaluation criteria Quiz (Face–to- face)
