Datathon is a machine learning and data-focused hackathon organized by SLIIT parallel to Codefest. It gives undergraduates the opportunity to improve their technical capabilities in machine learning and data engineering while solving real-world business challenges.

Guidelines

Open for students already registered in a degree program in a state university or higher education institute in Sri Lanka.
A team should consist of maximum 4 members.
Any number of teams can participate from a university.
Team members should be from a single university.
The panel of judges' decision will be final.
One team can submit only one solution to the given problem.
The proposed idea should be innovative and related to Data Science.
All teams must register before the closing date.
Students are strongly advised not to use pirated software.
Winners authorize SLIIT to use names, photographs and statements for advertising or related purposes without compensation.

Competition Format

Number of Rounds

Datathon will be conducted through 2 rounds to evaluate ideas, models and final solutions.

Round 1 – Online

Teams will work through the initial online stage and submit their data science solution.

Round 2 – Physical

Selected teams will move to the physical round to present, refine and defend their solutions.
