Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members. Every member should actively contribute to the proposed IoT solution.
Eligibility
Open to undergraduate students currently enrolled in state or non-state universities in Sri Lanka.
IoT Focus
Projects should include a clear IoT application with working hardware, a functional simulation, or a connected prototype.
Innovation Flow
A creative journey from real-world problem discovery to smart connected prototype development.
Ideate
Identify a real problem and shape a meaningful IoT concept around it.
Connect
Use sensors, controllers, and communication protocols to build the system.
Prototype
Transform the concept into a working demo or functional simulation.
Present
Showcase the impact, technical strength, and future potential of your solution.
Competition Rounds
Innov IOT moves from concept validation to prototype development and final live evaluation.
Proposal Submission & Presentation
Teams must submit a project concept including the problem statement, proposed IoT solution, system overview, and expected outcomes. The proposal will be presented to a panel of judges online.
Prototype Development
Shortlisted teams from Round 1 will develop their prototypes and present working demos to a panel of judges in a live in-person session, followed by a Q&A session.
Technologies & Platforms
Participants are encouraged to use a wide range of IoT-related technologies, devices, and communication methods.
Rules & Regulations
All teams must follow originality, contribution, and evaluation requirements throughout the competition.
- Each team must submit an original project idea. Plagiarism or reusing existing projects will lead to disqualification.
- The project must have a clear IoT application with working hardware and/or a functioning simulation.
- All team members must actively contribute to the project and be available during scheduled evaluation sessions.
- Shortlisted teams must present a working prototype or demo in the final round.
- Each participant must provide valid proof of university enrolment.
