Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members. Every member should actively contribute to the proposed IoT solution.

Open to undergraduate students currently enrolled in state or non-state universities in Sri Lanka.

Innov IOT moves from concept validation to prototype development and final live evaluation.

Proposal Submission & Presentation

Teams must submit a project concept including the problem statement, proposed IoT solution, system overview, and expected outcomes. The proposal will be presented to a panel of judges online.

Prototype Development

Shortlisted teams from Round 1 will develop their prototypes and present working demos to a panel of judges in a live in-person session, followed by a Q&A session.

Participants are encouraged to use a wide range of IoT-related technologies, devices, and communication methods.

Rules & Regulations

All teams must follow originality, contribution, and evaluation requirements throughout the competition.

  • Each team must submit an original project idea. Plagiarism or reusing existing projects will lead to disqualification.
  • The project must have a clear IoT application with working hardware and/or a functioning simulation.
  • All team members must actively contribute to the project and be available during scheduled evaluation sessions.
  • Shortlisted teams must present a working prototype or demo in the final round.
  • Each participant must provide valid proof of university enrolment.
  • Each university can send multiple teams, but a participant can only be in one team.
