Competition Details

Who Can Participate?

  • Open to undergraduate students from any state or non-state university or higher education institute in Sri Lanka.
  • Participants should be enrolled in a Sri Lankan university or higher education institute.
  • A student can participate in only one team.
  • Team size should be between 1 and 3 members.

What Will Be Tested?

  • Logic and analytical thinking.
  • Algorithms and data structures.
  • Problem-solving under time pressure.
  • Optimization, accuracy, and coding discipline.

Round 01 · Online

The first round will be conducted online with a duration of 3 hours. Teams will solve weighted algorithmic problems and compete for a place in the final round.

02

Round 02 · Physical

The second round will be held physically at SLIIT premises with a duration of 8 hours. Finalists will face a more intense problem-solving challenge.

Algorithm Arena

Every submission matters. Problems carry different weights based on difficulty, and rankings are decided using the number of solved problems and penalty time. The fastest clean solutions rise to the top.

Rules & Ranking

Ranking Method Teams are ranked based on the number of problems solved and penalty time.
Penalty Time Penalty time includes submission time and penalties for incorrect attempts.
Problem Weights Problems carry different weights depending on difficulty.
No External Help Chatbots, third-party code, and collaboration outside the team are strictly prohibited.
Fair Play Plagiarism or unethical behaviour will result in immediate disqualification.
Final Decision Judges’ decisions are final and non-negotiable.

Top 3 Teams

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams at the CODEFEST final ceremony.

Next 7 Teams

The next seven teams will receive merit certificates for their performance.

Final Round Teams

Teams selected for the final round will receive participation e-certificates.
